01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Justis improved his foot speed as the event as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but will benefit by working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/07/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) Justis is a coachable OF/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Cleveland All Star Experience. In the field, Justis takes a good first step and shows quick footwork. He fields in an athletic position and makes a quick exchange, keeping his throws accurate with life through his target. Fielding with softer hands can help Justis improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time and takes a level swing, leading to solid gap to gap pop. Justis can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. With four more years to develop, Justis has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

05/12/2019 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Justis showed nice improvements in several areas during his last workout with The Factory. He raised velocity to 70 MPH, lowered 60 times to 8.37, and also lowered pop times to 2.6 seconds. In the OF, Justis shows efficient footwork to the ball, he fields athletically in a square position, and he takes good angles. Justis plays through properly, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency and momentum toward his target. Behind the plate, Justis has active feet, he tracks well, and he moves well laterally. He fields aggressively, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and a short arm action to 2nd base. At the plate, Justis stands in with an open stance, he has a square stride, and quick hands. He has fast bat speed, works the ball gap to gap, and he uses some lower body. Skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

2. Release
3. Raise arm slot
Catching
1. Accuracy
2. Hands

12/15/2018 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Justis is a coachable OF prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Offensive Skills Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He shows good rhythm getting his hands activated and is explosive driving his lower half through. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Getting his stride foot down sooner can help Justis improve as a hitter. With four more years to develop, Justis has time and potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Once again, Justis continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, he has improved his hitting/power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. In the OF, feet are active as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate as he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Justis continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Corpus Christi, TX Justis is a young, RHH OF who graduates in 2023. Defensively, he takes good angles to track down fly-balls and works into position behind the ball. He secures it with 2-hands and has a clean exchange to throw. Offensively, this righty shows a square setup with a good load. He hits the ball where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve overall abilities on the diamond.

Defense
1. Routes
2. Foot speed
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Contact points
2. Extension through contact
3. Shorten stride

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
