10/18/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Santa Rosa, CA Kacen is a RHH 2-way player as a C/SS. Behind the dish, he sits in well while presenting a soft target. He is quick to his right and left, working to body up pitches in the dirt and keep them in front. Exchange is clean as he gains ground toward 2B on his throws down - pop times of 2.30. At SS, Kacen shows active footwork and is aggressive to come and get the ball. He secures the GB with 2-hands, gathers well and works in-line toward his target at 1B. As a hitter - this righty stands in well with an athletic/balanced setup and a strong base. He takes a hack and works to engage his lower 1/2 - driving the ball with pop. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
