01/18/2013 - 2013 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kacy continues to stay on the radar as a top prospect for this years Senior Class. On the mound at the Pre-Season All-America, he struck out 6 of 10 batters he faced with his devastating curve-ball being his out pitch. He found himself getting ahead early with a lot of first pitch strikes, which allowed him to throw his breaking stuff effectively. At first base, his sure hands and active footwork make him a smooth and fluid defender. Offensively, the left handed swinger has an athletic/open stance and gets good extension with his on-plane swing path. In all, we look forward to tracking Kacy's senior year and his promising career to follow.

01/01/2013 - 2013 Baseball Factory Top 100, powered by Under Armour Talented RHP who continues on the rise. Low 90s velocity from a repeatable delivery with some deception. Curveball has depth and is an out pitch.

08/18/2012 - Under Armour All-America Game Along with the obvious ML bloodlines, Clemens has room to fill out his 6-foot-2 200 pound frame. He is a two-way talent, with low 90s velocity on the mound and the combo of a good 1B glove and solid left handed stroke. His delivery very much resembles that of his father, with the overhead move of the hands and pause/sink move on the back leg. His fastball was up to 90 this short outing, and he showed feel for a 12-6 curve in the low 70s. He has room to grab more snap out front with improved extension and finish. His defensive actions are athletic at 1B, he moves well into position to play the ball and around the bag. At the plate, his left handed stroke is flat and he drives the ball from gap to gap. He is more projectable on the mound, both in terms of physical maturity and improvements to his extension and finish.

07/13/2012 - 2012 Team One South Showcase Clemens continues to show improvements his baseball abilities. At 1B, he displays plus athletic abilities as he moves well laterally, displaying range with soft / clean / sure hands as he makes all the plays. He is a quality receiver and consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt saving throws. At the plate, Kacy continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating outstanding bat speed through the zone and displays strength in his swing. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered to all fields.

01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Kacy is a tall, strong 1B/RHP that showed as one of the top prospects at the event. Currently, he projects slightly better on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his quick arm action to work free to the plate. He shows very good deception as he hides the ball well. Arm strength is near a pro level as he topped out at 91 mph. Fastball shows a range of 88-91 mph with arm side run on a downhill plane that creates tough angles on hitters. His breaking ball is a hammer, displaying true 12/6 shape with sharp, late bite. He shows great feel for his change-up that has sinking / fading action. He attacks hitters with his fastball and will change speeds when needed as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At 1B, he uses his athletic feet well in displaying proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver, showing soft / clean / sure hands. With his athletic abilities, he also will show well at 3B and has the arm to get it across the diamond. At the plate, Clemens shows an athletic setup with balance / rhythm. His hands are quick, generating outstanding bat speed through a short / direct path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with the baseball exploding off his bat when centered. He has strength in his swing as he will hit and hit with power at the next level. Kacy has the makings to be a special type player and should be a solid 2013 draft.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
