07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Kade continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball shows a range of 67-72 mph with tailing action. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program to build more arm strength will aid in further development on mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, he utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground and makes the routine plays. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He will put the ball in play and makes consistent contact. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. Overall, Kade is a talented young prospect who will be a name to follow as he continues to develop.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Tiger Town Kade is a talented 2-way player who showed very well during his time at Tiger Town. He is a very hard worker who is coachable and applies what he's taught. On the mound, this lefty gathers in a controlled balance point while maintaining level shoulders. He has smooth separation, stays directional and repeats his delivery well. He is consistently around the zone throwing strikes with his FB - now topping out at 64 mph. FB has slight run which hitters had a tough time squaring up. He extends well through his follow though and finishes complete. Working to get stronger glove-side lead & tuck will help to work downhill and get more into his pitches. In the OF, Kade shows his athleticism as he covers a ton of ground. He is versatile enough to play all 3 spots in the OF. He takes good routes, works behind the ball and has a smooth transfer to throw. Playing through the ball and gaining more ground toward his target will aid in his defensive development. As a hitter - Kade stands in tall with a narrow setup and active hands to load. He gets good separation and jumps on pitches in the zone. He barrels the ball up while showing pop to his pull-side. Continuing to 'smoothen' out his stride foot / landing will help to improve timing while allowing him to connect at his 'power position' and use the entire field. Kade was given the MVP of the camp thanks his 'can do' attitude and solid all-around skill-set on the diamond. He has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

12/06/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Crowley, TX Kade is a LHH 2-way player as a LHP/OF. On the mound, this lefty throws a FB & CH from a 3/4 arm slot and clean arm acton. He has smooth separation and repeats his delivery well. FB ranges from 60-63 mph while showing slight tail. He works the ball to both sides of the plate and fills up the zone with strikes. In the OF, Kade takes a quick first step while maintaining athletic actions. He works behind the ball, secures it with 2-hands and has a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, this lefty shows a balanced setup with active hands to load. Swing is level as he connects and barrels the ball up - driving the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Release point on CH
3. Finish with extension
Defense
1. Foot speed
2. Routes/Angles
Offense
1. Stride square (avoid diving in)
2. Extension on finish
3. More lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
