  • OF/LHPPosition Projection

04/28/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Phoenix, AZ Kade is an athletic OF/LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the OF, Kade shows fluid footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact to his pull side. On the mound, Kade gathers over the rubber and works with a quick arm. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph. Breaking ball sits from 68-70mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 74-75mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Kade is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

07/09/2018 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kade is a solid, athletic LHP/OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth clean actions. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-77 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 2 years to further develop, Kade has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
