07/17/2014 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 2 Kaden showed well offensively at the Cape Cod Select Training & Competition. At the dish, he stayed inside the ball well and flashed pop when centered. He generated some leverage hitting off of a stiff front side and got his lower half through at contact. Simplifying his load will enable him to have more control and strength through contact. Defensively, he sits well and receives with sure hands. He has athletic movements behind the plate and has a strong build. Setting up closer to the hitter and trusting his ability will allow for more production. All in all - Kaden is a pleasure to work with both from the coaching standpoint and teammate side, and we see great potential in his ability.

05/18/2014 - National Tryout - San Antonio, TX Morin continues to show as a C/3B but currently projects best behind the plate where he has improved his abilities behind the plate. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.20. He utilizes his quick feet well in working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.00. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he moves well laterally displaying range and shows off his athletic abilities on slow roller play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more while presenting hands more out front. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands works through a level swing path and he shows a feel for the barrel. Power numbers will continue to improve as he keeps to hands on the bat through contact and transfer weight more efficiently through the lower half.

01/12/2014 - National Tryout - San Antonio, TX Kaden showed his best hit ability and pop times to date - 2.12 pop - in his latest Baseball Factory workout. Defensively, he showed to be sure handed and received in front paying close attention to his tracking. He also displayed good blocking - softening the balls in front. Over at the hot corner, he had fluidity in his actions and made all the plays. At this point in time, increasing his arm strength with a long toss program will be the biggest benefit to his game. Offensively, he showed a solid launch and direct route with the barrel. He shows plus maturity with the stick, being patient and allowing the ball to travel. In all - Kaden continues to show progress in his game and as a freshman, has the time to continue moving forward.

06/27/2013 - California Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Kaden is a big, strong, athletic Catcher/3B with a lot of potential. Behind the plate Kaden has strong legs, gives a quiet target and displays a plus arm. He receives the ball confidently but sometimes reaches. Kaden also gets down quickly to block but could be quicker in his reaction to recover the ball. At 3B Kaden again shows off his strong arm that shows a lot of life. He is consistent in fielding the ball but could improve by smoothing out his motions and foot work as well as getting lower and fielding the ball more out in front. At the plate Kaden has a good, disciplined approach. He gets thru the ball well and flashes plus power. Kaden does over-grip the bat and occasionally pulls off pitches. Adding rhythm to his swing and staying centered will add consistency to his power. Overall, Kaden has a lot of potential at the plate and behind it. With continued work he could be a difference maker at the next level.

05/19/2013 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Kaden is a big, young, 2-way player who catches and plays 3B. Behind the plate, Kaden has active feet, he covers ground well, and he sits in athletically. He is quick to his feet, takes good angles to block, and he throws with accuracy and carry to his target. At 3B, Kaden has sure hands, he plays through the ball, and he has accuracy from a long / loose arm action to his target. At the plate, Kaden has a square set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He lets the ball travel well, he makes hard contact, and he puts the ball in play. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
