07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kadence continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.13 runner. At the plate, power potential has improved through an athletic setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path with lower half working well through the swing. He has strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

Breaking ball sits from 66-68mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 72-74mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Kadence improve as a pitcher. In the field, Kadence shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He makes a the routine plays and makes accurate throws with carry through his target. Kadence can improve defensively by beating fly balls to their spot. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load and takes a direct swing, leading to solid gap to gap pop. Driving his lower half more can help Kadence improve as a hitter. Overall, Kadence is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
