  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Kadin is a coachable 2B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. In the field, Kadin takes a good first step and displays smooth footwork. He gets into a square position and fields the ball with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with good carry through his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Kadin improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and gets his hands activated well. He works to barrel up the baseball and sprays to all fields. Kadin can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Kadin starts with a simple rock step and keep his pitches around the zone. He works with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 60mph. Breaking ball sits from 39-41mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits from 47-49mph. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Kadin improve as a pitcher. With five more years to develop, Kadin has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/15/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Kadin is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Select Training & Competition at Pirate City. In the field, Kadin shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. Kadin can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load well and hits from a strong front side. He takes a level swing with good extension and decent bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Working a smoother rhythm into his load can help Kadin improve as a hitter. On the mound, Kadin gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Kadin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 63mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 46-47mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 49-50mph. Kadin can improve as a pitcher by staying inline towards the plate. With six more years to develop, Kadin has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
