01/13/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Honolulu, HI Kaikeanalu showed offensive and defensive upgrades and raised exit velocity to 78 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. At the plate, Kaikeanalu has good hand eye coordination, he keeps a still head, and swings aggressively. He has a square/short stride and puts the bat on the ball consistently. Both hitting power grades improved to 40's. In the OF, Kaikeanalu give good effort to the ball, he reads well off the bat, and he makes the routine plays; throwing with an accurate arm to his target.

01/29/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Kaikeanalu is a compact athlete as a 2020 OF prospect. He shows natural actions in the outfield with the ability to make plays and be an asset to the pitcher by keeping runners where they are. He is aggressive working to the ball and using his speed to track down balls in the gaps. He presents his hands out front to field and centers the ball to keep it in front and get it back in quickly. At the dish, he shows a square setup with a patient approach and good tracking ability to pick pitches up early. He works on a hard level path to the ball and uses his lower half to generate bat speed, while working to all fields. Getting started earlier with his hands and lower half will allow him to catch up to more velocity in the future. We look forward to watching Kaikeanalu as he continues to develop.

08/14/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Kaikeanalu is an athletic 2020 graduate that continues to improve on the field. At the plate, he stands tall in the box with a solid base and weight distribution. Head stays behind the ball with decent balance as he works to deliver the barrel. Although his path is slightly long, he shows natural feel to spray the ball and with barrel consistency. With more wrist strength and reps he will be capable of seeing line drives carry more into the gaps. In the OF, he works aggressively to ground balls and will cut angles. He is sure handed with fly balls that he catches consistently. Improving his arm stroke and arm strength will help him be more consistent with accuracy and have more life on his throws. Overall, Kaikeanalu is a young athlete that shows a great attitude and eagerness to learn and make adjustments. As he continues to mature and build body mass he will be a player to follow over the next 4 full seasons.

07/10/2016 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 Kaikeanalu is a lean OF who will graduate in 2020. In the OF, he utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He is aggressive in attacking ground balls. He will benefit in working to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through an uphill swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more aggressively. Mental makeup is outstanding as he has a positive attitude, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Kaikeanalu has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
