12/27/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 Kaleb is a talented two way player that showcased at SS and on the mound. In the infield he has good pre pitch movement and gets to a good ready position before fielding. He has sure hands and active feet with his approach. He has an accurate arm across the diamond and follows his throws. At the plate he starts with an open stance, has good balance, and made consistent contact during games. He has a simple approach and works to stay in the middle of the field. On the mound he is a competitor and challenges hitters. He has a 3 pitch mix which includes a fastball with arm side run, a curve with an 11/5 shape, and a changeup that has good sink. He pounds the zone with all 3 pitches and understands the importance of getting ahead.

06/17/2014 - National Tryout - Charleston, WV Kaleb continues to work hard on his game. With the bat, this RHH shows an aggressive approach and is looking to take a hack. He hits the ball where it's pitched and uses all parts of the field. At SS, he hustles into a square fielding position and presents his glove out in front. He fields the ball cleanly and works in-line toward 1B. On the bump, Kaleb works through good tempo. FB now tops out at 65 mph while breaking ball has 10/4 shape. Throwing his off-speed with FB arm speed will help to increase effectiveness. Only a 2019 grad - Bailey has a lot of time to develop his skills.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Kaleb is a young athlete that plays SS. Defensively, Kaleb shows the ability to field the ball clean, he takes good routes to the ball and shows soft hands. Infield grades will improve as he learns to develop quicker footwork while focusing on a lower fielding position. Offensively, he shows a strong load with a power lower half. His rhythm is smooth with a short path. Kaleb can continue to focus on staying through the ball using more top hand. With a couple more years before high school, Kaleb shows abilities with room for improvement.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
