12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Kaleb is an athletic and talented 2020 catching prospect with a high baseball IQ. Behind the dish, Kaleb starts in a balanced primary and has an athletic secondary stance. He works behind the ball and has strong hands when receiving. He leads with his glove when blocking but needs to increase hip mobility in order have better lateral movement to the ball. He has a clean exchange, a quick release, and creates momentum with his lower half when throwing. At the plate, Kaleb starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays in his legs. He has good barrel control and looks to use the opposite side of the field. Kaleb will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/23/2018 - College PREP - Oklahoma City, OK Kaleb is a lean, athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he utilizes his feet well in working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times show a range of 2.09-2.25 with accuracy and zip (80 mph velocity) on his throws. He displays a soft glove and sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front, and is a wall behind the dish. Receiving / blocking skills show as outstanding tools that will play well the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic, closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Kaleb has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
