07/23/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14)
Kaleb is a solid, athletic 3B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph with arm side run / sink. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and late break, showing as a quality pitch that will get outs. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 5 years to further develop, Kaleb has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Kaleb is a tall/athletic/projectable 2-way player 3B/RHP who has a ton of skills on the diamond. With the bat, this RHH displays an athletic setup with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects and drives the ball with pop (exit velocity = 77 mph). At 3B, he maintains active footwork and comes to get the GB. He shows some good range to his glove-side and gathers well with a clean transfer to throw. On the mound, Howell has a 3-pitch arsenal in which to challenge hitters (FB, CB, SL). He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional. He keeps his eyes on the target and repeats well. FB tops out at 68 mph while showing some arm-side run. Curveball has 10/4 shape while slider has a little more bite. Howell is a talented player who has a ton of upside and will continue to develop with work on the following.
