06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Kaleb continues to show improvements on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.90 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are now solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with online carry (83 mph velocity) to his target. He utilizes his (82 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/30/2022 - All-In Membership - Indianapolis, IN Kaleb is a RHP/OF prospect who will graduate in 2023. On the mound, Kaleb operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph. Breaking ball sits from 68-69mph with 9-3 break. Changeup sits from 65-68mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Striding inline toward the plate can help Kaleb improve his pitch command. In the field, Kaleb shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Kaleb can build up his arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and engages his lower half well. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, driving the ball to his pull side. Working a smoother rhythm into his load can help Kaleb barrel up more baseballs. Overall, Kaleb is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
