12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Kamden is a thin and athletic 2023 Catching prospect with high energy. Behind the dish, Kamden has a balanced primary and secondary stance. He presents a low target and works behind the ball when receiving. He leads with his glove, controls balls in the dirt, and shows the ability to block the ball laterally. Kamden has a clean exchange but needs to create momentum with his lower half and quicken his release. At the plate, Kamden starts in a squared stance, gets his front foot down on time, and has good barrel control. He has a compact swing and keeps his head down at contact. He needs to continue to create backside drive with his lower half and think knee to knee in his load. Kamden was eager to learn and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/19/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei, HI Kamden showed nice skills behind the plate and in the OF during his last workout with The Factory. Behind the plate, Kamden has active feet, he sits in well, and sticks the ball properly. He is quick to block, catches athletically, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to 2nd base. In the OF, Kamden moves well to the ball, he tracks properly, and gets good reads. He keeps his eyes to the ball, has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency to his target. At the plate, Kamden has an aggressive swing, he loads well, and swings in good rhythm. He has some bat speed and makes consistent contact. Kamden can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
