01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kane continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a RHH. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range (7.14 60 time) as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry on his throws. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball showed a range of 78-80 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Kane will get looks from the top collegiate coaches a pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

04/14/2019 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Kane is an athletic C prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Kane shows active footwork and centers the ball when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistent with carry through the 2B bag. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a good swing from both sides. He sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with plus bat speed, leading to loud contact and line drives. Overall, Kane is a talented prospect who shows the skill set to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Kane continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.38 runner. At the plate, hitting abilities has improved, now showing outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap. At the event, he was 6 for 9 with a 2B and 3B. In the OF, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding power potential. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph with tailing action. Slider displays 11/5 shape with short break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

09/24/2017 - College PREP - Tacoma (Seattle), WA Kane is a tall, wiry built OF/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. In the outfield, Kane plays with active footwork and an aggressive approach. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square position. Kane has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently online, strong throws. Offensively, Kane has an athletic stance with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and long stride as his lower half leads his swing. Kane shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path producing consistent contact. He is a line drive type hitter who has the ability to use all fields. On the mound, Kane has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He picks up his target early and extends through his release. He stays square to home plate and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Kane commands his fastball with tail action. He also locates his deceptive changeup and late breaking curveball. Overall, Kane has a talented skill set on both sides of the ball giving him upside to make an impact at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
