01/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bothell (Seattle), WA Karan is a two-way player 1B/RHP in the 2023 class. He continues to improve his velocity as it increased to 84 MPH. On the mound, he stays balanced throughout the delivery and has a clean arm action. He finishes through the pitch well and shows a 2 pitch arsenal with potential to continue improving. The FB has solid action and the SL shows good velocity with slight break. At 1B, it is athletic actions with good bag awareness and the ability to field the ball out in front consistently. Additionally he continues to makes strides at the plate improving his bat speed with 82 mph exit velocity. His fast bat speed and ability to make consistent hard contact give him the potential to be a well-rounded two-way player at the next level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Karan is a coachable RHP/1B prospect who showed well during the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. On the mound, Karan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Karan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph with arm side run and sinking action. Breaking ball sits at 67mph with sharp movement. Changeup sits at 70mph with arm side run and sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Karan starts in an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He gets rid of the ball quickly and keeps his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance with loose hands. He takes a level swing and hits against a strong front side, leading to solid contact. Overall, Karan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/22/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lynnwood (Seattle), WA Karan is a nice all around ball player with excellent skills. He improved arm velocity to 81 MPH and hitting numbers to 48's at his last workout. On the mound, Karan has a quiet delivery, a clean arm action, and he separates his hands on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, lands with a proper length stride toward home, and he throws strikes. At 1st base, Karan has quick feet, he fields squarely, and he moves well around the bag. He has athletic actions, a quick/clean exchange, and a strong/accurate arm to his target. At the plate, Karan is a strong hitter with good balance and a square set-up. He has fast bat speed, and makes hard contact to all fields.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Karan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, he shows a long, loose, and live arm. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball shows a range of 73-75 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. At 1B, feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and good instincts with plays with a lot of energy.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Karan is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way prospect that worked hard all weekend. At 1B, Karan has good footwork on double plays, makes accurate throws, and has a quick release. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step and present a low/early glove. At the plate, Karan starts in an athletic stance and has a short stride. He gets his front foot down on time, he turns his hips into the ball, and consistently makes good contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and be on time for the fastball. On the bump, Karan shows confidence and works north to south in his delivery. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a clean arm stroke. He needs to continue to develop his changeup and build arm strength throw a long toss program. Karan was eager to learn and we hope to see his progress in the future.

09/30/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Karan is a young, 2-way player who pitches and plays 1B. On the hill, Karan keeps his eyes on target, he separates on time, and has good glove side lead. He has a controlled landing, finishes in a complete position, and throws strikes. At 1B, Karan has good footwork to the ball, he fields squarely, and throws with consistency and momentum across the diamond. Offensively, Karan has a square set-up, fast bat speed, and he can spray to all fields. He gets good extension through and uses some lower body. Karan can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
