09/16/2012 - College PREP - Adrian (Detroit), MI Karl is a very talented two-way player that plays 3B/P. In the field, arm action is loose with good accuracy and life/carry across the diamond. Footwork is active, hands are sure with a clean/quick exchange. Overall, Karl displays solid fundamentals and can work on fielding further out in front of his body while focusing on staying low to throw. On the mound, Karl shows well above average fastball velocity for his age ranging between 83-86 mph with late downward movement. His curveball has a sharp 11/5 shape and changeup has good run while maintaining fastball arm speed. Karl has a solid balance point, separation is on time, direction is on line, and he finishes in a strong athletic position. Overall pitching mechanics are very polished. At the plate, Karl shows good rhythm with fast bat speed. His stance is square with a wide setup and no stride approach. Karl has the strength to be a strong hitter but he can work on letting the ball travel and keeping his body centered as he attacks the baseball. With 4 years to further develop Karl has all the makings to be a special player at the collegiate level.
