06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Karl is a coachable RHP/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Omaha National World Series. On the mound, Karl gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and accelerates through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Karl operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 62-63mph with 11-5 break. In the field, Karl takes a quick first step and works behind the ball well. He fields in an athletic position and has a clean exchange, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with good extension, spraying the ball to all fields. Overall, Karl is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/16/2021 - All-In Membership - Spokane, WA Karl is a RHP/OF prospect in the class of 2023. In the field, he shows active footwork as well as the ability to cover ground. Fields from an athletic position. Shows good glove angles when fielding. Does a good job high pointing the baseball. Shows the ability to pick out hops. At the plate, he starts in a tall stance. Does a good job of hitting into a firm front side. Really competes at the plate. On the mound, he shows the ability to throw 3 pitches. FB and CB show the most signs of command. Delivers all pitches from a High ¾ arm slot. Karl is a good prospect that we hope to see again in the future.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
