02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Karson is a tall LHP/1B prospect who showcased his skills during the Opening Day Classic. On the mound, Karson takes a simple rock step and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and drives his lower half well. Karson shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 1-7 break. In the field, Karson makes the routine plays and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes strong/accurate throws through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into a simple load and rotates his core through well, producing strong line drives. Overall, Karson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/09/2020 - College PREP - Gainesville, FL Karson is a skilled R/L 2-way player as a LHP/1B who can make things happen on the diamond. On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch mix in which to keep hitters guessing. He has fluid rhythm/tempo and works to a controlled balance point with good separation. He keeps his eyes on the target, stays directional and drives his lower 1/2 off of the rubber. FB tops out at 76 mph with good sink/tail. Curveball shows to be his best pitch with 12/6 shape, late break and good bite. He can throw it for strikes in any count. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed showing good sinking action - 67-70 mph. At 1B, Lindsey has active footwork and moves well into a square/athletic fielding position behind the GB. He funnels smoothly and makes accurate throws to his target. He moves well around the 1B bag, adjusting to throws up and down the line. As a hitter, this righty displays a square setup with smooth rhythm. Swing is on-plane as he works to drive the ball back up the middle of the field. Only a 2023 grad - Karson has a ton of upside and will be one to keep an eye on.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
