09/06/2015 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Karter is a tall, lean 2017 grad that projects as a two-way player. Defensively, he works from an active, pre pitch stance and good body control as he works through the ball from right to left. He fields the ball out front with a quick, 3/4 arm slot. Loosening up his arm and continuing to polish his glove skills will only help him improve his defensive stock. On the mound, Karter throws from a 3/4 arm slot with excellent, fluid arm action. He uses his lower half to drive to the plate and keeps the hitters off balance with a 3-pitch mix (FB 78-81 / CB 67-69 / CH 66-70). As he gains arm strength and grows into his body he will see velo and command take a jump. At the plate, Karter hits from an open stance with a simple approach. He uses his good balance and barrel accuracy to stay inside the ball and work through the middle of the field. As he taps into his lower 1/2 more, he will see balls fly off his bat to the gaps. Karter is a talented player with a bright future ahead of him as he continues to mature.
