Official Scouting Report

  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Kase is a strong 1B/LHP prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Kase gets into position on time and makes the routine plays. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated and drives his lower half through well. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact and gap to gap power. On the mound, Kase starts with a simple rock step and gathers over the rubber. He separates his hands on time and works with a clean arm, staying inline towards the plate. Kase shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 58-63mph with 1-7 break. With three more years to develop, Kase has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18) Kase is an athletic and talented 2022 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Kase starts in a squared stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and controls the barrel through the zone. He makes hard contact and shows pull power. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and keep his head down at contact. Kase will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Kase is a strong, 2-way player who played 1B and LHP during his time at Pirate City. Defensively, Kase has efficient footwork, agile movements, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He presents his glove well, fields cleanly, and throws with a quick release and accuracy to his target. Continuing to quicken footwork and add arm strength will help defense continue to improve. On the mound, Kase has a clean arm circle, he works in good tempo, and has a controlled landing toward home; competing in the zone. A better balance point and more eyes on target can help mound effectiveness improve. Offensively, Kase has quiet actions in the box, he swings in good rhythm, and he stands in well balanced. He has a proper load, fast bat speed, and he makes hard/consistent contact. Letting the ball travel deeper and more lower body can help hitting improve.

02/24/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Kase is a hard working and coachable 2022 LHP prospect that made several adjustments during the catching and pitching accelerated training weekend. On the bump, Kase gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a good stride length. He uses his legs and has a strong glove side. Continuing to throw north to south and finishing over the front knee will allow him to follow throw and work the bottom half of the zone. Kase will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
