06/24/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (MS) Kason is an OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Select Training at the CWS. In the field, Kason shows efficient footwork and works behind the ball well. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes accurate throws to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Kason field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He rotates his core and works through a level swing, producing strong line drives. Kason can barrel up more baseballs by getting his stride foot down sooner. On the mound, Kason keeps his glove centered and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Kason operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 55mph with good movement. Breaking ball sits at 47mph with 11-5 break. Striding inline toward the plate can help Kason improve his pitch command. Overall, Kason is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

05/22/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Fargo, ND Kason is a 2026 OF/RHP. Small frame lean build with some strength present and plenty of time to develop. Primary OF, active feet allows him to move well to the ball with good routes. Tries to work behind/through ball while creating momentum on his throws into infield. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with accurate/on-line throws to cutoff man, and an arm velocity of 60mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher has good mechanics and is coachable. Gathers over rubber and gets his chest over his front knee. Attacks hitters with his FB that was up to 51mph with ability to throw for strikes. Mixed in a CB with 11/5 shape with good depth and a developing changeup he throws to the strike zone. CB was his best secondary pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, he starts with an athletic and even stance. Simple and balanced swing with ability to spray line drives. He recorded a bat exit velocity of 60mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him having an opportunity to play high school baseball and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
