12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 This athletic OF continues to impress and showed very well during his time at Pirate City. He is a coachable player who applies with he's taught. In the OF, he gets quick jumps reading the ball well off of the bat. He covers ground with speed tracking down almost anything hit his way. Offensively, Kaven has a quiet setup with rhythm in his hands. He takes an aggressive hack with bat speed and hits the ball where it's pitched, spraying it to all parts of the field (2 doubles at the event). Kaven is a very talented player who is fun to watch.

12/06/2015 - College PREP - Crowley, TX Dangerfield continues to shine on the diamond. This 'speedster' can absolutely fly (60 = 6.52). He covers ground with ease and works through the ball aggressive gaining ground toward his target. At the plate, he's a leadoff type with his knack to barrel up the ball. He gets out of the box and down the 1B line - putting pressure on the defense. Kaven is a very talented prospect who will play at a high level.

12/07/2014 - College PREP - Grand Prairie (DFW), TX Kaven showed strictly as an OF in his most recent Baseball Factory outing. Offensively, he had good balance and delivered the barrel by keeping his hands inside the ball and driving his lower half. Leveling out his path and getting to a stronger hitting position more on-time, will increase overall hit ability. Defensively, he works to the ball with efficient foot work and gains momentum with his body to throw. Timing to field and and fluidity to throw will enhance defensive ability. In all - Kaven continues to show as a strong runner and has another two high school seasons to add strength for the next level.

01/18/2013 - Arizona National Spring Training Kaven is a young (2016 graduate) athletic player with a lot of potential. In the field Kaven can covers a lot of ground with his speed. He has nice actions to the ball and fields the ball cleanly although he could improve by catching the ball squarely at the high point. His arm action is short from a 3/4 arm slot. If Kaven lengthened his arm and got on a consistent long toss routine he could improve his arm strength. At the plate Kaven shows flashes of bat speed with power potential and a balanced approach. He has an athletic set-up with a good stride and load. His swing is short to the ball but his balance is at his heels instead of the balls of his feet not allowing his lower half to work for him. If Kaven improved his lower half he would add consistency and power to his swing. Overall Kaven is a player with a ton of upside, if he continues to work on smoothing out his mechanics and on his arm strength he will be one to watch in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
