01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Kayden continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.12. Throws display accuracy with times continuing to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process, as he is a wall behind the dish. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 77-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape, flashing late / sharp break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/06/2019 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Kayden is a C prospect who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Kayden shows active footwork and moves well to block. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through the 2B bag. Sitting in a square stance towards the pitcher can help Kayden improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to his pull side. Kayden can improve as a hitter by keeping his hands raised in his load. Overall, Kayden is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/14/2019 - College PREP - Trenton, NJ Kayden has really improved his baseball abilities since the last time we saw him and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 84 mph. Fastball shows a range of 79-84 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a plus feel for pitch with slight tailing action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.13 with accuracy and zip (86 mph velocity) on his throws. He shows a squared setup and receives the ball well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. With 4 years to further develop, Kayden has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the college coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

04/23/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Kayden is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Behind the plate, he displays an athletic setup as he works low. Hands are quick with a clean exchange and accurate throws down to 2B. On the hill, this RHP is a strike thrower with a 3-pitch mix. FB runs in on hitters and CB has sharp breaking action. At the plate, Kayden presents smooth rhythm to load. He explodes his lower 1/2 creating hard contact as he stays balanced through contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

1. Simple delivery
2. Stronger frontside

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
