Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

11/12/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training at Pirate City Kayden is a coachable 1B/LHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training at Pirate City. In the field, Kayden makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Kayden field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance with comfortable hands. He gets his hands activated in a small load and works through a smooth swing, driving the ball to his pull side. Kayden can barrel up more baseballs by taking a square stride toward the pitcher. On the mound, Kayden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He keeps his eyes on target and finishes with a controlled landing. Kayden shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 62mph with sinking action. Changeup sits from 53-55mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Lengthening his arm action can help Kayden improve his pitch command and velocity. With six more years to develop, Kayden has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Kayden is a solid, strong 1B/LHP who will graduate in 2026. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and utilizes his lower half well with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. He works to square ground balls up, displaying clean hands as he makes the routine plays. He will benefit by presenting hands more out front. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 52-53 mph with tailing action. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. With 6 years to further develop, Kayden has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
