06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Kayin is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who showed well during the All-State Tournament. In the field, Kayin shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with explosive bat speed, leading to strong contact and great gap to gap power (90mph exit velo). On the mound, Kayin gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Kayin operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Kayin is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
