12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Widdowson is a 2017 grad that played OF at Pirate City. Defensively, the footwork is efficient and body control is present and the hands are presented on time properly. KC's angles are solid and displays soft hands on the catch and will benefit from getting behind the baseball more and keeping momentum through the catch to the target to add carry to throws. At the plate, Widdowson hits with a quiet, still head and firm front side getting the barrel through the zone with loose actions. Best results come for KC when the hips and hands coordinate for proper utilization of the lower half and drive through contact. Widdowson's hard-working mentality will help him get the most out of his abilities heading into the spring.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - Bowie, MD KC is an athletic LHH OF. With the bat, this lefty shows a balanced approach with fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is quick through a level path as he works to engage his lower 1/2. Letting the ball travel a little deeper into the zone will help him to use the entire field. In the OF, KC takes a quick first step and is aggressive to track down fly-balls hit into the gaps. He secures the ball with 2-hands, plays through the ball well and makes accurate throws into his target. A 2017 grad - KC has skills that will provide success on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
