11/18/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Pearland (Houston), TX Keaton is a 2-way player C/2B who graduates in 2025. Defensively behind the plate, he tracks pitches well into his mitt and tries to work around. He works hard when blocking and looks to gun out runners who are trying to steal. At 2B, he presents his hands and works into a low fielding position on GB's. He comes up with a clean exchange and makes on-line throws to his target. As a hitter, Keaton shows an athletic setup with smooth rhythm to load. He whips his barrel on-plane through the zone and looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Quick footwork
2. Low setup
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Infield
1. Lateral range
2. Develop soft hands
3. More accurate throws
Offense
1. Improve bat speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Develop more strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
