05/28/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Keegan has an excellent mix of stuff, athleticism and competitiveness on the mound. He sat 88-91 at the event in Georgia, and the fastball showed some late life that resulted in swing-and-miss or weak contact for the most part. His arm stroke is clean and he repeats his delivery well allowing him to throw a high volume of strikes. He also showed a breaking ball and change for a solid 3-pitch repertoire, giving him solid starter traits.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Keegan continues to show a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally, displaying range as he covers a ton of ground. He displays smooth/clean actions with hands/feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip (92 mph velocity) on his throws. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which he keeps hitters guessing. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 91 mph. FB jumps out of his hand and shows tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. Control is tremendous as he throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Keegan has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a 2 way guy.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Keegan is a talented two-way player who showed well during his time at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Keegan shows quick footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He has a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and line drives. On the mound, Keegan shows a solid delivery as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick, clean arm action and extends through on his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Keegan has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 89mph, best at the event. Breaking ball sits from 70-71mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup ranges from 75-79mph with arm side tail as he throws with fastball arm speed. Keegan is a very talented, young prospect who will be a player to watch closely over the next few years.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Keegan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. He displays a sound/repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose/free to the plate. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He shows good composure and competes on the mound. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he uses his lower half well. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground.

12/04/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Crowley, TX Keegan is an athletic OF/RHP who will graduate in 2021. In the OF, he fields GB's in a low/athletic fielding position. He gets behind on fly balls as he plays through the ball towards his target. On the mound, this RHP delivers each pitch from a 3/4 arm slot. He attacks the zone with strikes as he commands a 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH). At the plate, Keegan sets up square in the box. He gets into a load, stays balanced and drives his barrel through the zone creating consistent contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
