02/19/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Keegan is a lean, compact two-way prospect who is slightly more advanced as an outfielder. He controls the ball well on the mound, working comfortably to both sides of the plate with each of his pitches. He has a mechanically sound delivery with balance, in line direction and an on time separation to keep his arm and body in sync. He features a fastball up to 71mph, an 11-5 curveball and a deceptive change with sink. In the outfield, he has efficient footwork and takes good angles to show extended range in all directions. He works around the ball and plays through the gain momentum and make accurate throws to his target. At the dish, he looks to drive the middle of the field with strong hands that stay inside the ball on a level path. His rhythm and balance allow him to stay back and react to off speed, while making consistent contact to spray hits to all fields with pop to the opposite field. Working on staying direct to the ball will lead to more hard contact moving forward. Keegan is a prospect with lots of potential on the diamond.

12/20/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Keegan is a hard worker who is a 'team first' kind of player. He asks questions and has a willingness to learn. With the bat, this lefty has fluid rhythm to load and waits for his pitch. Swing is level as he barrels the ball up and drives it back up the middle of the field. More power potential is there if he can work to stride more square (not close off) which will allow him to engage his lower 1/2 more. In the OF, Garcia takes a quick first step and hustles to track down fly-balls. He is sure handed and has a clean exchange making accurate throws into his target. Playing through the ball more will help to take his OF skills to the next level. This 2020 grad has skills with still a ton of time to develop.

11/14/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Pearland, TX Keegan is an athletic LHH 2-way player as an OF/RHP. Offensively, this lefty shows a balanced setup with a solid base. Swing path is level as he connects and creates extension through contact. He hits the ball where it's pitched with the ability to spray is to all parts of the field. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and tracks down fly-balls with aggressiveness. He secures the ball with 2-hands, works through it well and gains ground toward his target. On the mound, this RHP throws a FB & CH. He has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 55-60 mph as he works it to both sides of the plate. Changeup ranges from 48-52 mph. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. Swing path
2. Contact points
3. increase bat speed
Defense
1. Crow-hop
2. Routes/Angles
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Rhythm/Tempo
2. Finish with extension
3. Off-speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
