12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Keegan continues to impress with his baseball abilities at the Pirate City Christmas tournament. In the OF, he reads ball well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Throws shows carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hands are quick and work on plane to the ball. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. At the event, he was 1 for 4 with a 2B and BB. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Keegan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot ground. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now solid through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 72-74 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/30/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Keegan is an OF/P in the 2025 class. In the field, he shows a clean arm at a high ¾ slot and plays well at 77 velo. Can redirect the ball back to the dirt with accuracy and prevent the free 90. Shows strong agility and a quick 1st step. Works to stay inside the baseball and creates a last step forward for momentum. On the mound, he can pound the zone with repeatable mechanics. His FB sat 71-3 with some variations of movement. His CB showed solid tilt and with a consistent release point, it can be an effective pitch. His CH sat 66-7 and working to stay at the knees will be a key point as he progresses on the mound. At the plate, he has a quiet set-up and smooth actions. Stays inside his feet well and allows his backside to get through. His barrel is on-plane and shows line drive production. Overall, Keegan is a solid two-way player and with more reps and added strength and velo on the mound, he can become a prospect fore the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
