07/17/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Keegan is a SS/OF who will graduate in 2024. Keegan continues to improve in all facets of his game. He has shaved a half second off of his 60-yard dash now running a 7.2. He has also added 4mph on his arm velocity since the last time we saw him. In the OF he starts with a good prep step and gets good reads off of bat. Showed good lateral range as he works behind/through the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Shows a quick release on his throws into infield with an arm velocity up to 82mph. At SS shows ability to close distance on batted balls and has good body control at the baseball. Works from right to left and fields from an athletic fielding position with soft hands out front. Has a short/quick arm stroke with ability to throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate he hits from an athletic and closed stance. He gets his hands separated with ability to hit ball where it is pitched. Has a short barrel path through the zone with a high finish. During BP he made consistent contact to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph. With continued growth and development, we foresee Keegen having opportunities to play at the next level.

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Keegan is a 2024 SS out of Heath, TX who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. He's coachable, works hard, and hustles on and off the field. At SS, he showed athletic actions, with active footwork, and creates good fielding angles. He closes distance on batted balls with ability to finish the play. Fields from an athletic/low fielding position with soft hands out front. He showed ability to get rid of the baseball and arm fits the position. Throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 78mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds and pivots. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and even stance with high hands. He activates his hands, with a controlled load, and hits into a firm frontside. Has a short barrel path and good bat to ball skills. He hit balls to all fields with a with a bat exit velocity up to 81mph during BP. During the games, he made solid contact and reached base multiple times. Keegan is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
