12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Keenan continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate, he shows a squared, athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 77-78 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/25/2020 - All-In Membership - Keizer (Salem), OR Keenan is an athletic R/R 2-way player who can swing it. At the plate, this strong righty steps into the box with a purpose. He has an athletic stance with active/loose hands and gets good separation on his load. He fires the barrel on a level path, connecting and driving the ball with pop (exit velocity = 84 mph). At 3B, he shows athletic actions and moves well into a square fielding position behind the GB. He makes the backhand play smoothly with a clean transfer to throw. On the mound, he has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and finishes with good extension. He works to keep the ball down in the zone, which will get GB outs. FB tops out at 77 mph as he works it to both sides of the plate. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action - 61-62 mph. Changeup compliments his FB well - 65-66 mph. Keenan is a solid all-around 2-way prospect who will make an impact on the diamond in a variety of ways.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
