06/07/2015 - National Tryout - Albuquerque, NM
Toya continues to progress in his game. On the bump, he has sound mechanics repeating his delivery well. FB now ranges from 71-74 mph as he works downhill off of the rubber. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape as he can throw it for strikes consistently. In the OF, Keenan works into position behind the fly-ball and secures it with 2-hands. He gathers well and gains ground toward his target. Continuing to develop/quicken his footwork/foot speed will aid in his development in the OF. With the bat, Toya remains patient and waits for his pitch. Swing is quick/short to and through the zone as he engages his lower 1/2 well, helping to drive the ball.
07/27/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City
Keenan is a 2016 graduate who is a RHP/OF. He has a good arm strength/accuracy with loose arm action but he needs to raise his arm angle when throwing from the outfield. As a fielder Keenan's fielding position is too high, he needs to take better angles to the ball and agility drills will help him with speed/footwork. On the mound he has a projectable frame and he displayed good tempo and he has good presence/composure. He needs to maintain more flex in his lead leg on landing, get his chest out front and get more extension on finish. At the plate Keenan has an athletic set-up, stable balance and a good line drive approach. He needs to start sooner, stride at the pitcher and shorten his swing path. Overall Keenan has a good upside, if he works hard and makes some adjustments he can be a very good player.
06/22/2012 - California Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14)
Keenan is an athletic kid who plays RHP and OF. He has well above average arm strength with good carry and accuracy. On the mound, Keenan displayed above average arm action, control and delivery. He has a good hard FB and a plus CB but he needs to slow down, loosen up and finish his pitches. As an outfielder, Keenan is athletic, sure handed, he has active footwork and he is a hustler. He needs to keep working on the fundamentals and long toss. At the plate, he consistently squares the ball up and he contacts the ball in the proper zone. Keenan needs to have better placement of his back elbow and be more consistent with his lower half. He is a very talented player in all aspects of the game. Keenan should have a bright future in baseball if he puts in the work.
04/22/2012 - College PREP - Albuquerque, NM
Keenan is an athletic looking young pitcher that will graduate in 2016. On the mound, he shows a repeatable delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action. He throws his fastball in the 61-63 mph range with soft movement and little command. He tends to rush his balance point not allowing him to pick up his target or get his separation with his hands timed well with his legs. He throws a decent curveball showing good arm speed with 11/5 shape to it. His changeup was decent showing some tumble to it. He needs to stay more in-line with the catcher which will give him better balance and keep him from falling off towards first base. He also must follow thru better by bringing his chest to his lead leg to be in a proper fielding position after releasing the ball. Keenan is still very young and has time to continue to work on his pitching mechanics.
