01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament KeiJhuan is a lean and athletic 2020 2-way prospect. At SS, KeiJhuan is on time with his prep step, he starts on the balls of his feet, and he has a quick first step to the ball. He has a clean exchange and he makes accurate throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, KeiJhuan starts in a crouched stance, he has rhythm in his load, and he gets to balance at contact. He attacks the inside part of the ball and he looks to drive the ball through the middle part of the field. On the bump, KeiJhuan gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and he works north to south in his delivery. He cuts his fastball, he has good depth on his curveball, and he throws his changeup down in the zone. He pitches to contact and he fields his position well. KeiJhuan is a competitor and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/20/2019 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Keuhauan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the MIF, he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork, attacking baseball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft /sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, power potential is now well above average through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. Fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 61-66 mph showing 11/5 shape with gradual break. Slider sits 66-68 mph with tight spin and short break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He can improve as a pitcher by long tossing to build up his arm strength.

07/03/2019 - Under Armour Firecracker Classic 18U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Kejuan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.87. At SS , he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 4 with 12.Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament KeiJhuan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times were in the 2.07 range with accuracy and zip (84 mph velocity) on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He plays with a ton of energy and shows the ability to handle a pitching staff with his receiving / blocking skills. At the plate, he continues to shine. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with power showing best to the pull side. A projectable catcher, KeiJhuan has a ton of potential and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/14/2018 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL KeiJhuan is an athletic 2020 prospect with positional versatility. He flashes pull side pop with power potential to project as a very good hitting SS or C. He is strong at the plate with an incorporated lower half and fast bat speed through the zone. He stays balanced to deliver the barrel and make consistent, solid contact. Behind the plate, he has a quiet body and tracks the ball well to stick it in the zone. He is quick to drop and block with soft hands to keep the ball in front. At short, he is athletic with a quick first step to show range. He centers the ball to field and has quick hands to exchange and release. A long toss program will improve arm strength from the left side of the infield. KeiJhuan is a player we definitely want to keep watching develop.

06/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida This athletic catcher shows a bright future on the diamond. Offensively, he has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. With flexion and good sway he pockets pitches with a soft/sure mitt. Pop times showed in the low 2.25 range with accuracy on his throws. Keijhuan has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/08/2017 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL KeiJhuan is a lean, athletic 2020 prospect who shows impressive ability to move around the diamond. He is an impressive backstop with advanced instincts for the position who receives well for a player his age. He is quiet behind the plate with fluid actions that allow him to work around the ball and stick pitches. He is agile and gets down to block quickly and smothers the ball in the center of his body. At first, he shows good rhythm and body control to make tough plays look easy and contribute good range for the position. He takes good angles to the ball and fields everything cleanly with soft, presented hands. At the dish, he is smooth in his setup and load, getting to a powerful position to launch. His lower half provides power to his hands as he works to and through the ball to make solid contact. Two-ball soft toss will improve hand eye coordination and lead to more hard contact moving forward. KeiJhuan is a prospect who looks to have a bright future in the game.

06/14/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida KeiJhuan continues to show improvements and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has im-proved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid run-ner at 7.15. Pop times have improved as he threw his low-est time to date at 2.20. Receiving / blocking skills are out-standing as he shows off his athletic abilities. At the plate, he continues to shine. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone as he connects through a line drive path. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hit-ters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball showed range of 71-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament KeiJhuan is an athletic built C/RHP prospect who has good potential and graduates in 2020. Behind the plate, KeiJhuan has a quiet, athletic setup and plays with quick footwork. He receives the ball with a firm glove and is quick with his exchange and release. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and his throws are online with good strength. Offensively, KeiJhuan has an athletic stance with his weight back. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and short stride. KeiJhuan flashes fast bat speed and good hands producing hard contact. He has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. On the mound, KeiJhuan has a deceptive delivery pitching with good balance throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He gets some extension through his release and lands open to home plate. He pitches to contact featuring a fastball and curveball. Overall, KeiJhuan has good upside as he continues to progress his talents with development.

10/23/2016 - National Tryout - O'Fallon, MO KeiJhuan is a lean, athletic 2020 two-way prospect who currently is more advanced behind the plate. He is a wall behind the plate with advanced skills in both blocking and receiving to go along with a good, accurate arm. On the mound, he features a three pitch mix including a fastball with tail, a mid-60's curveball and a very deceptive changeup with late life. He works with tempo and keeps hitters off balance in the box, along with showing a repeatable delivery which leads to command of all three pitches. Working on getting on top of his curveball while extending to throw will increase the movement and spin on the pitch to give him a potential out pitch. Behind the plate, this backstop is a very polished blocker, taking good angles to the ball and getting down quickly to smother anything in the dirt. He is quiet to receive and has a quick exchange while gaining momentum to throw accurately to his target. At the dish, this RHH gets good separation in his load and launches with a powerful bat angle. He has a very fast bat through the zone with a level path and makes hard line drive contact to all fields, with some pull side pop. KeiJhuan is an exciting prospect we look forward to watching continue to progress.

07/11/2016 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL James continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, he threw his lowest pop times to date at 2.34. He works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work inside the ball, utilizing all fields. He creates extension through the ball at contact. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 4 years to further develop, James has the makings of a special type player as he continues to progress his game.

12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 James is a very coachable, hardworking player that is a student of the game. Behind the plate, feet are active, working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Arm is strong as pop times showed in the 2.50 range with accuracy on his throws. Continuing to improve foot speed well help increase lateral range when blocking. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup with balance. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball and utilizes his lower half well through a solid line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 8. With 5 years to further develop, James has a lot of potential with still a ton of time to progress.

07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown KeiJhuan is a 2020 grad that made huge strides in his most recent outing with Baseball Factory. This C/SS showed a natural feel for the game with good communication skills. Behind the dish, KeiJhuan has soft hands, smooth transfer and quiet feet. Developing more aggressive, explosive actions along with getting more blocking repetitions will improve his defensive abilities. At the plate, this RHH showed a square, athletic base with a great feel for the box. He gets good rhythm with his hands and lower half and uses his legs to drive the ball to the pull side. Loosening up his hands and staying through the middle of the field will improve his hitting stock. KeiJhuan is a talented player with the right tools to succeed at the next level.

05/31/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Murfreesboro (Nashville), TN KeiJhuan is a young (2020 grad) 2-way player as a C/RHP. With the bat, this RHH shows an athletic setup with rhythm in his hands. He whips the barrel on a level path to and through the zone, connecting and hitting line-drives. The ball jumps off of his barrel with pop when centered. Behind the dish, he sits in well with quiet actions and sticks pitches in the zone. He works hard around pitches in the dirt, trying to center them off of his chest. Exchange is clean with accurate throws down to 2B (pop times of 2.47). On the bump, he has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a controlled balance point, maintains level shoulders and gets good glove-side lead. FB ranges from 59-62 mph while showing some run. Curveball is best off-speed as it has 10/4 shape with gradual action. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
