03/22/2015 - National Tryout - Greenville, SC Cooke continues to develop on the diamond. With the bat, this righty shows a balanced setup with a solid base. He has good zone awareness waiting for his pitch. Swing path is level as he whips the barrel through the zone with quick hands. In the OF, he works hard into position behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2-hands and has a clean exchange throw, gaining ground toward his target. Working on his routes/angles to the fly-ball will help him to cover ground more efficiently in the OF. Keith (2019 grad) has skills that will continue to progress.

03/02/2014 - National Tryout - Greenville, SC Keith continues to work hard on his game. He has made great progress both offensively as well as defensively. At SS, he is aggressive in his approach, he maintains good body control and presents his glove out in front. He fields the ball cleanly and works in-line toward 1B. In the OF, Keith takes a quick first step and works into position behind the fly-ball. He hustles all over the field and can make plays. With the bat, he displays an open setup with good rhythm. He delivers the barrel on a level path and squares it up. Keith is young and a hard worker who has a lot of time to develop his game.

07/31/2013 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Vero Beach (Ages 12-14) Keith showed as an OF/SS at his most recent Factory outing. In the outfield, he knows the position well, and made plays. Taking more efficient routes and getting better reads off the bat will help increase his game play. At short, he showed decent ability to make plays and keep the ball in front, however, he needs to work on his knowledge/IQ of the position responsibilities. At the plate, he has good rhythm, generates good bat speed and is consistent with contact. In all, Cooke showed flashes of aptitude and an ability compete.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
