07/14/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Keith is a lean and athletic 2020 OF prospect that's willing to put in the hard work to become a better ball player. In the OF, Keith start in an athletic position and is aggressive to the ball. When fielding ground balls, he needs to work from the ground up and play through the ball. Working behind the ball and increasing his first step quickness allow him to get better routes to the ball. At the plate, Keith starts in an athletic stance and keeps a quiet head. He loads knee to knee in the lower half and sees the ball into the contact zone. Being on time with the front foot and creating separation will allow him to attack the inside part of the ball. Keeping his head down at contact and getting extension thru the ball will allow him to keep a middle approach. Keith needs to continue to work on the adjustments he made in camp and increase his repetition volume. He will improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

03/11/2018 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Keith is a young OF with a tall frame. Defensively, Keith has playable hands and feet, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He covers some ground, has a clean exchange, and throws with consistency to his target from a short arm action. Quicker feet, fielding in a lower position, and playing more through the ball can help defensive numbers spike. At the plate, Keith has a tall set-up, a power stance, and he makes square contact with the ball. He will need to work on rhythm, shorten swing, and use more lower body for hitting to further improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
