07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Keller is a coachable RHP/C prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. On the mound, Keller keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick, clean arm and extends through on his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Keller shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78mph. Slider sits from 69-71mph with sharp 11-5 break. Keller can improve as a pitcher by extending his arm action back. Behind the plate, Keller shows active footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange with a quick release on his throws to 2B. Keller can improve defensively by setting up square to the pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with good extension and fast bat speed, leading to hard contact and line drives into the gaps. Keller can improve as a hitter by consistently keeping his head on the ball. With four more years to develop, Keller has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
