11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Kelton is an athletic and talented 2025 2-way prospect that worked hard but needed to be more focused during learning opportunities. Behind the dish, Kelton has an athletic secondary stance, he has efficient footwork, and a strong arm. When blocking, he needs to continue anticipate balls in the dirt, lead with his glove, and create good angles over the ball with his chest. When receiving, he needs to continue be in a quiet primary stance and work behind the ball. At the plate, Kelton loads his hands back into the drive position, he attacks the inside part of the ball, and keeps the barrel on plane. He’s a works counts well and is a line drive hitter. He needs to continue to create backside drive with his lower half, keep a quiet head, and stay compact to the ball. On the bump, Kelton separates on time, he has a good stride length, and has a loose arm action. He has an 11-5 break on his curveball and attacks hitters with his fastball. He needs to continue to find a balance point, ride his back leg toward the plate, and work north to south in his delivery. Kelton has good potential and will continue to improve with experience.

09/15/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Boise, ID Kelton is an athletic C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Behind the plate, Kelton sits in an athletic stance and sticks the ball well. He works to make accurate throws and gets good carry through the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and gets into his load well, producing solid line drives. On the mound, Kelton shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 65mph with tailing action. Changeup sits from 56-57mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Blocking range
2. Better target
3. Quicker exchange
Hitting
1. Shorter stride
2. Smoother rhythm
3. Center balance
Pitching

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
