03/15/2015 - College PREP - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Kendall continues to shine on the diamond. Defensively, he puts his athleticism on display working with quick/active footwork. He works from the ground up, funnels smoothly and gets rid it the ball quickly. DP turn is quick as he fires it accurately to 1B. At the plate, this RHH shows quiet/simple actions with patience. He whips the barrel through the zone on a level path as he squares it up consistently and drives the middle of the field. He is a top of the line-up type of hitter with his knack the barrel to ball up. Krout has a bright future ahead of him.

04/13/2014 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Kendall has molded himself into quite a player. At the hot corner, he shows good glove extension as he presents his glove and fields the ball cleanly. He makes the play smoothly and fires the ball across the diamond. At 2B, he works around the ball playing light on his feet. He can turn the DP and shows plus footwork around the bag. With the bat, Krout has a well balanced approach with a quiet load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with bat speed, resulting in line drives. More power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive. A 2016 grad - Kendall should find success on the diamond.

09/08/2013 - College PREP - Azusa, CA This MIF continues to develop his game. Arm strength has increased, now topping out at 73 mph. Defensively he shows good pre-pitch movements and works to get into an athletic fielding position. Turing the DP he has a clean exchange and gets the ball over to 1B quickly. Kendall is making great progress in his game and still has a lot of time.

04/07/2013 - College PREP - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Krout continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and currently, projects slightly better defensively at 2B for the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date but will benefit by increasing foot quickness. At 2B, feet are active as he moves well laterally flashing range in the MIF. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. For defensive grades to continue to improve, he needs to attack ground balls and play through with his body. In the OF, the takes proper routes / angles and works to get behind balls and gathers well. He needs to play through balls more to continue to improve. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength / carry through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting grades have improved through an athletic setup. He loads well with hands working through a level swing path. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to improve bat speed. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more.

He shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. For hitting grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 2 for 5. In the MIF, feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays through well, displaying clean hands. He needs to play through balls more and present hands more out front to continue to improve. Throws are accurate as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
