Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

01/13/2019 - College PREP - Honolulu, HI Kennedy is a young, 2-way player with good skills at both SS and on the mound. Kennedy has fluid/active footwork defensively, he moves with good agility to the ball, and his hands are soft and sure. He covers ground, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy from a quick/strong arm to his target. More aggressiveness will only help good defensive skills get better. On the mound, Kennedy has a balanced delivery, a quick/clean arm circle, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has good glove side lead, a controlled landing toward home, and he finishes in a complete position. Working from the windup and sharper off-speed can help solid mound effectiveness get even better. At the plate, Kennedy has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, makes hard contact, and works the ball gap to gap. Kennedy projects as a nice prospect at both positions.

01/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Kapolei, HI Kennedy is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. On the mound Kennedy has good arm speed, a simple delivery, and good overall control. Offensively, Kennedy has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and a good bat angle to the ball. He has fast bat speed, work the middle of the field, and uses his lower body. Kennedy is a solid young player and can get better with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
