Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Kenneth is an athletic, coachable and hard working SS/RHP. Despite playing with mostly older players, Kenneth was not thrown off his game and showed great confidence in himself during the camp. He showed best on the mound, as he featured 3 pitches from an over the top arm angle, including a fastball which topped out as high as 79 mph, a curveball which showed 10-4 break and some late movement, and a changeup which was a weapon for him in his 2nd outing. Offensively, he started in an athletic setup, loaded his hands on time, and showed great separation with his lower 1/2, allowing him to hit with some pop to the gaps. Defensively, he showed smooth actions from start to finish, as he worked around each ball cleanly, timed each hop well, and then made accurate throws to 1st base. Trying to field with lower hips, which will allow his hands to be more out in front, will help with the sureness of his hands. Only a 2020 graduate, Kenneth is a very impressive prospect, who has a bright future ahead of him.

08/07/2016 - College PREP - Wilmington, DE Kenneth is a talented, young 2-way player (SS/RHP) who has a ton of upside on the diamond. Defensively, he shows active prep footwork and moves well on the balls of his feet. He works around the GB right to left, makes the plays with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. Continuing to increase his arm strength (long toss) will aid in his development on the left side of the diamond. With the bat, this lefty has a tall/balanced setup. He works to engage his lower 1/2 and squares the ball up consistently, hitting line-drives. Developing a better load will help to increase pop off of the barrel. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix in which to keep hitters guessing. He works on top and drives downhill off of the rubber in-line toward the dish. FB tops out at 78 mph as he fills the zone up with strikes. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action when he stays on top. Changeup has good arm-side run and compliments his FB well. Kenneth has a solid all-around skill-set with a bright future ahead of him on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
