12/02/2012 - College PREP - Cedar Hill (DFW), TX Kenneth is a lanky, athletic LHP/OF that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects slightly better in the OF for the next level. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.39 60 time. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and gets behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Tabor shows an athletic setup with rhythm through a no stride approach. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact but needs to loosen hands / grip to continue to improve bat speed. On the mound, fast ball shows a range of 79-81 mph. Breaking ball displays downward action with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Slider has tight spin with tilt but needs to improve command of pitch to improve. He needs to work on throwing more strikes with all his pitches to improve stock on the mound. With 2 years to further develop, Kenneth has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
