06/02/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Keoni is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 89 mph). At 3B, he has plus lateral range (6.75 60 time), working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping (91 mph velocity) across the diamond. A projectable 3B - Keoni will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

10/28/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Keoni had a very impressive showing at the Baseball Factory Under Armour Futures West event. He is solid in all facets of the game, playing with a quiet confidence and seeming to have the sought-after ability to slow the game down. At the plate he hits with a hanging leg kick and quiet hands until he makes his aggressive move to contact. Keoni swings with intent and has very good barrel accuracy with quick hands. After a solid batting practice, he went 2-3 in the game with a deep double to LF. As a defender Keoni has natural IF actions with sound feet and sure hands. He moves well to both directions and has an accurate arm across the diamond. Overall, this is a baseball player with an impact bat who should be followed closely.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
