12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI Keoni continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/13/2023 - National Showcase - Honolulu, HI In all the years we've known Keoni, last Sunday's workout was his best to date with improvements across the board. Arm strength up 4 mph now to 74 mph with accuracy to his target from the hot corner. His 60 yard dash improved .4 seconds clocking in at 7.88. Huge bumps in grip strength pumped up his exit velocity 11mph now at 81mph. With 3 years of high school in front of him and the track record of improvement every time we see him, we are expecting Keoni to keep on rising.

08/14/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Honolulu , HI Keoni continues to show as a prospect with improvements with his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities continue to improve as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

08/15/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Honolulu, HI Keoni is a 3B prospect who will graduate in 2026. Young and developing player who has medium frame and lean build. Some strength present but has plenty of time to add more strength. In the infield, he showed ability to center the baseball. Tries to create good fielding angles. Accurate/on-line throws across diamond from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 62mph. At the plate, he starts from a square and upright stance. Quiet head allows him to track pitches well. Short stride with good balance at contact point. Simple and repeatable swing who showed ability to deliver the barrel. Short/direct barrel path as he made square contact into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 55mph during BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we can see Keoni having a good high school career and possibly beyond.

01/12/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI Keoni worked out at 3rd base during his last workout with The Factory. Defensively, Keoni tracks well to his glove, footwork is efficient, and he centers well on his body. He uses 2 hands to field, he shows a quick/clean exchange, and throws with consistency from a short arm action across the diamond. Offensively, Keoni has an open stance, good balance, and a level swing path. He makes contact consistently, and can work the ball to all fields. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Keoni continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 4. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

08/11/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Waipahu (Honolulu), HI Keoni is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and OF. In the INF, Keoni is aggressive to the ball, footwork is efficient, and he fields in a square position. He has firm hands, a clean exchange, and throws with consistency across the diamond. In the OF, Keoni tracks the ball well, he makes plays consistently, and he follows his throws toward his target. At the plate, Keoni has a square set-up, good balance, and he strides toward the pitcher. He has quiet actions, swings on plane, and he uses his lower body. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
