08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2
Kevin improved his foot speed at the event as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.27. In the OF, he utilizes his quick, athletic feet well in tracking down balls as he reads well off the bat and takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and has some strength in his swing with power numbers improving as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will improve as he builds more arm strength and throws more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.
07/17/2013 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 2
Bryce is a young OF/RHP that showed some pull-side pop, offensively. At the dish, he has a strong setup and good bat speed with some barrel accuracy. Keeping his head down the center of his body will allow for increased balance and solid contact. In the outfield, he showed accurate throws after aggressively attacking ground balls taking good angles. On the mound, he throws two pitches with his fastball topping out at 73 MPH. He showed good aptitude and asked great questions to improve his game. Bryce is very coachable and has a good attitude. Overall, Bryce projects best as an OF with an athletic frame.
03/03/2013 - College PREP - Austin, TX
Kevin is a 6'/160 lbs RHP that will graduate in 2015. On the mound, he topped out at 72 MPH with his fastball and showed an ability to change speeds. Kevin has long arm action, level shoulders, and stays in line to the dish. A long toss/throwing program will help to loosen up the stiffness in Kevin's arm action and help to strengthen his arm in general. At the dish, he swings from the right side with a contact approach and good extension. Utilizing his lower half, and relaxing his shoulders will allow for greater bat speed and more power potential. Overall, Kevin should have a strong impact this spring season.
