12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Kevin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.19. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a solid setup and soft glove action, sticking balls in the zone well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind dish. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball shows a range of 70-73 mph with. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Kevin is an athletic two way player at C and RHP. Behind the plate, he has great primary and secondary stances. Very active footwork, centering the baseball with good sway and quick transfers are qualities that help him excel at the position. As a RHP, Kevin is very accurate, commands his FB well. He has good tempo and has a good feel on the mound and understands how to pitch efficiently. Offensively, Kevin as solid power to his pull side, he attacks fastballs aggressively and keeps his weight centered properly. A solid young players with very good upside.

09/27/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Kevin is a young (2021 grad) R/R 2-way player as a C/RHP. Behind the dish, he sits in well with a solid base and presents a low target. He sticks pitches in the zone and frames well. He moves well laterally and centers pitches in the dirt off of his chest. Exchange is clean with pop times of 2.60. Offensively, this righty has a balanced setup with patience as he waits for his pitch. Swing is level as he connects and uses the middle of the field. On the mound, Kevin throws a FB & KN from a high 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall balanced point and drives off of the rubber downhill toward the dish. FB ranges from 58-60 mph showing slight sink. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
