02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Kevin is an athletic C/1B prospect who has a bright future on the diamond. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an athletic setup. He is controlled to load and is explosive driving his lower half. He works through a compact swing with plus bat speed, leading to loud contact and great gap to gap power (93mph exit velo). Behind the dish, Kevin sits in an athletic stance and sticks the ball well. His exchange is quick and he produces pop times as low as 1.9 seconds to 2B. He is quick to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. Overall, Kevin is a talented prospect who will be among the top in his class.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Kevin is a strong C prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the plate, Kevin sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and gains ground on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. He tucks his chin well when blocking and keeps the ball in front of him. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a square setup. He is controlled getting his hand activated in a smooth load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with explosive bat speed, leading to great raw power. Overall, Kevin is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his junior season.

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Waterford Township (Detroit), MI Kevin is an athletic and stocky C/3B that graduates in 2021. Behind the dish, Kevin shows active footwork and great lateral ability blocking the ball in the dirt. He centers the ball well keeping it in front of his body. His secondary is solid and receives the ball with confident hands making clean exchanges and getting rid of the ball with a strong arm. (87 mph raw velo) His arm action is short and his throws to second have good carry. At 3B, Kevin shows effective footwork as he works to the ball and fields with it square with confident hands. His exchanges are clean as he makes consistent throws around the diamond with carry. At the plate, he sets up in a square and athletic stance getting an even stride keeping a smooth rhythm. Kevin rotates against a firm front side creating fast bat speed and taking a short, direct path to the ball. His approach is consistent making hard contact for power especially to the pull side. Kevin is a stud that has the ability to be an impact player at the next level at the plate and in the field.

10/02/2019 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Kevin is a pure catch and throw backstop who also will make an impact with the bat. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his arm (87 mph) with impressive pop times of 1.94. Offensively, he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (88 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. With 3 years to further develop, Kevin has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/25/2018 - College PREP - Avon (Cleveland), OH Kevin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has the makings of a special type player. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.06 as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his with sinking action. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.

04/22/2018 - College PREP - Grand Rapids, MI Kevin is an athletic and talented 2021 2-way prospect. Behind the dish, Kevin has an athletic primary and secondary stance. He presents a low target and works behind the ball. He leads with the glove to block and controls the ball with a soft chest. At the plate, He starts in a crouched stance and loads his hands back into the drive position. He stays balanced through contact and attacks the ball with his backside. On the bump, Kevin keeps his eyes on his target, has sink on the fastball, and makes adjustments pitch to pitch. Kevin will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Kevin continues to show a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.30. Feet are aggressive in working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a solid setup and soft glove action, sticking balls in the zone well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 6 with 2 2B. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 74-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Kevin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.38 range with accuracy on his throws. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well through the receiving process. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Kevin has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

03/26/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Harmony (Pittsburgh), PA Kevin is a C/RHP who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, this C displays a solid/athletic base. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate, on line throws down to 2B. On the mound, he delivers from a straight over the top arm angle. He keeps his eyes on target as he throws a CH that deceives hitters. With the bat, Kevin takes aggressive hacks through the zone. He squares up pitches thrown in the zone as he looks to drive the ball with pop to his pull side. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
