ADVANCED SWING METRICS BY SWINGTRACKER

Official Scouting Report

  • 1Class Rating
  • 3BPosition Projection

06/01/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Kevin is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate, he has pro level abilities with superior power potential. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack, crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 99 mph). At 3B, he has plus lateral range for a big guy (7.03 60 time), working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping (90 mph velocity) across the diamond. A projectable 3B, Kevin has big upside with the makings of a solid draft pick in 2020.

10/06/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures West Kevin is an extremely talented young player who can do a lot of positive things on the diamond. His right-handed swing stands out, as he has quick hands and an accurate barrel leading to lots of hard contact. He had two loud rounds of BP showing pull-side power and he followed that up with a 3B and 1B in game play. There is intent and leverage in Kevin's swing. Defensively, he has active feet and plays from low to high in the infield. He closes ground well and finishes plays with a strong, accurate arm across the diamond. That arm strength was on display when Kevin jumped on the mound and showcased an upper 80s fastball, 3/4 tilt curve and developing change. He challenged hitters and showed definite 2-way potential. Overall, this is an intriguing prospect with the chance to be a run producing bat at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
