07/09/2011 - Team One West 2011 Kevin is a tall, athletic two-way player at first base and on the mound as a right-handed pitcher that will graduate in 2013. Currently, he projects well at both positions as being a solid player. At first base, his foot speed is below average as he will benefit by getting on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. His feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and displays outstanding glove action as he picks balls out of the dirt, saving throws. He is a quality receiver and plays aggressively. His throws display life, accuracy, and on line carry through his target. Offensively, Wade shows a quiet approach as he loads well with his hands attacking the baseball. He has strength in his swing with the ball exploding off his bat when centered. His lower half is aggressive and works well through the swing. On the mound, his fastball shows a range of 82-85 mph on a slight downhill plane. His breaking ball displays an 11/5 shape with tight spin and gradual break. His change-up shows a range of fading action. With 2 years to further develop, Kevin has the makings to be a special type player, possibly a two-way guy.
